Our Story
In true modern love story fashion, ours began with a swipe right on Hinge, proof that sometimes, the algorithm really does get it right! What started as a simple match quickly turned into something special, and before we knew it, we’d gone from strangers on an app to best friends, travel buddies and each other’s favourite person. Turns out, Hinge’s “designed to be deleted” slogan wasn’t just marketing after all!
Our first date took us to Snackman on James Street, followed by Messina gelato and drinks at Sixes and Sevens. From the very beginning, conversation flowed effortlessly, we felt completely at ease with one another, and there was an undeniable connection that just felt right. It didn’t take long to realise we’d found something truly special in each other.
Since then, our story has been filled with travel adventures, date nights, plenty of Messina gelato and all the little everyday moments that make life so special. Whether we’re exploring somewhere new or enjoying a quiet night in, we’ve discovered that our favourite place to be is simply by each other’s side. Somewhere along the way, we became each other’s biggest supporters, favourite adventure partners and, most importantly, home. Sharing a deep love for our families, similar values and a strong foundation in faith has made our connection even more meaningful. We feel incredibly blessed to have found a love that feels like both an adventure and a home, and someone we can’t imagine doing life without.
On 14 November 2025, in beautiful Palm Cove, Nicholas had a special surprise planned for Jess. He did his best to keep the proposal a secret, although clutching his hand luggage for the entire flight was perhaps a little giveaway! When the moment finally came, Nicholas popped the question and Jess, of course, said yes! It was such a special moment for us both, and we couldn’t have been happier to take the next step together and start planning our future as husband and wife.
Now, we can’t wait to celebrate with our favourite people as we begin this next chapter, surrounded by the love of our family and friends. Here’s to a lifetime of adventures, laughter, faith, family and, of course, plenty more Messina gelato!
